Privacy Notice

Toast Karaoke ("the app", "we") is self-hosted karaoke software that runs on your own computer. This notice explains what personal data we handle, why, and your rights. The short version: your library and settings stay on your machine. Data reaches us only through the optional online features below.
The data controller for any personal data we do process is Watcharapong Dokmai (sole proprietor), contactable about privacy at privacy@toastkaraoke.com.
1. Data that stays on your device
By design, these never reach us. We cannot see them:
- Your media library — the song files you point the app at and the metadata read from them (title, artist, duration).
- App data — settings, play counts, artwork, queue history, guest nicknames and avatars. Stored on the host machine and in your music folder.
- Guest connections — when guests join from their phones over your local network, their requests go to your machine, not to us.
2. Data used by optional online features
These send data off your device only if you use the feature:

We describe these bases in GDPR terms; equivalent bases apply under Thailand's PDPA and similar laws.
We do not collect a trial device identifier merely because you open the app. When you choose Start free trial, the app explains that an online licence check will send the identifier before you continue.
3. Payment processing
Payments are handled by Paddle, which acts as our reseller and merchant of record: it processes the transaction, issues invoices, and collects applicable taxes. We do not receive or store full card numbers. Paddle's own privacy notice governs how it handles your payment data.
4. Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:
- service providers who help us run the service (payment processing, hosting for accounts/licensing), bound to protect it and use it only for us; and
- authorities, where required by law or to protect legal rights.
5. International transfers
If a service provider processes data outside your country, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) where the law requires them.
6. Retention
- Local data stays until you delete it (Settings → reset/clear, or by removing the app's data folder). We cannot delete it for you.
- Account and license data is kept while your account is active and for as long as needed to support purchases, resolve disputes, and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations, then deleted or anonymised.
- Trial device identifiers are kept as long as needed to enforce trial eligibility.
7. What we don't do
- We don't sell your data.
- We don't use your library, song choices, or singing for advertising.
- We don't track your activity inside the offline app.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under Thailand's PDPA, the EU/UK GDPR, or similar laws), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict the personal data tied to your account, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority. To exercise any right, contact privacy@toastkaraoke.com; we may need to verify your identity first.
9. Children
Toast Karaoke is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We don't knowingly collect their personal data; if you believe a child gave us data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the limited personal data we hold. No method is perfectly secure, but data that never leaves your device is not exposed to us at all.
11. Changes
We'll update this notice as the app changes and revise the "Last updated" date. For material changes we will give reasonable notice.
